Submission Terms and Conditions

By submitting a manuscript to Applied Linguistics Inquiry, the authors agree to the following terms and conditions:

  • Exclusive Submission: The submitted manuscript must be original work that has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Simultaneous submission to another journal is a breach of our publication ethics.

  • Submission Method: All submissions must be made through the journal's official online submission system. Submissions sent via email or other means will not be considered.

  • Corresponding Author: The submitting author is considered the corresponding author and is responsible for all communication with the journal throughout the submission, peer review, and publication process. All correspondence will be sent to the corresponding author, who is responsible for liaising with all co-authors.

  • Authorship: The order of authors' names must be finalized at the time of initial submission. Any changes to the author list (additions, deletions, or reordering) after submission are not permitted except in extraordinary circumstances and must be approved by the Editor-in-Chief with a signed letter of agreement from all original and new authors.

  • Manuscript Withdrawal: Authors may request to withdraw their manuscript at any point before a final editorial decision is made. A formal withdrawal request must be submitted through the journal website, accompanied by a letter signed by all authors explaining the reason for the withdrawal.

  • Editorial Discretion: The journal's editors reserve the right to reject or accept manuscripts at any stage of the process. The editors may also request revisions or make minor editorial changes to improve clarity and conform to house style.

  • Mandatory Forms: The submission process is not complete until the Author Commitment Form, Title Page, and Cover Leetter have been completed, signed, and uploaded for all authors.
