Publication Ethics

Applied linguistics Inquiry adheres to the Code of Conduct Guidelines presented by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) available at: http://publicationethics.org

Peer Review Process

All submitted papers are subject to a blind peer-review process. After the initial screening by the editorial office, articles that have the required standards will be sent to two researchers who have expertise about the topic for blind peer review.

After around three months from the submission, the reviewing decisions about articles will be announced as (a) rejected, (b) accepted for publication, (c) accepted with minor revisions, or (d) accepted with major revisions. When manuscripts are revised and resubmitted, they are re-evaluated to check whether the authors have addressed the specific recommendations or not.

Authorship

By submitting a paper to Applied Linguistics Inquiry, authors attest that it is original and unpublished, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Furthermore, they should also sign an Agreement Form confirming their contribution to writing the manuscript. Papers are only sent to reviewers once consent is given by all contributing authors.

Conflict of Interest

Authors are required to disclose any possible conflict of interest.

Source of Funding

Applied linguistics Inquiry requires that sources of financial support for the work within the manuscript be fully acknowledged.

Plagiarism

Authors are expected to avoid plagiarism in their manuscripts. To verify originality, submitted articles will be checked through such originality detection software packages as iThenticate, TurnItIn, etc.

Copyright

Submission of a manuscript to Applied Linguistics Inquiry means that the author has transferred the copyright to the journal unless the manuscript is rejected after review or the author withdraws it before final publication and receives written confirmation from the journal.
